Introduction

Since 1997, the number of medical equipment has significantly increased in all private and government hospitals. Most of the equipment are high technology medical instrumentation devices that require specialists to operate and provide proper maintenance. These factors contribute to the growing need in Malaysia for medical electronics engineers.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) launched the Bachelor of Electronic Engineering Technology (Medical Electronics) with Honours (BMET) formerly knowns as Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Medical Electronics to offer fundamental Degree for those who are interested to explore the field of medical electronics as well as medical engineering technologies.

In addition, UniKL BMI also offers Master and PhD program in Medical Electronics fields of study. The research program in Universiti Kuala Lumpur-British Malaysian Institute is expanding with the financial supports from both public and private agencies.

The programme provides students with the unique opportunity to achieve understanding, knowledge and skills in both electronics and medical engineering technologies. This enables them to make an immediate contribution in electronics and clinical aspects of their work.
